Apple Hummus

Ok so I might enjoy hummus just a little bit??  Well I also enjoy sweet hummus. In the past, I have made chocolate hummus and chocolate chip hummus. Right now I have a LOT of apples so I decided to make apple hummus. I did some searching on the web and found recipes, but nothing said… “make me, make me!”

So I gave up… yeah no! I decided to create my own recipe!

Apple Hummus

1 large apple (peeled and chopped)

2 cups cooked chickpeas (you could use canned, but I prefer to make my own)

1 cup apple cider

1 tsp apple pie spice

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

1.5 Tbsp peanut butter

salt

Peel and chop the apple. Put it into a small sauce pan with the apple cider and apple pie spice. Heat until the apples start to soften, but are NOT mush! Let cool. (on a side note, your house now smells yummy!)P1070185

In the food processor put the chickpeas and cinnamon. Mix this together.

And the vanilla, salt and peanut butter. Mix until smooth.
