There are a few recipes that everyone should have in their back pocket, or at least on their Pinterest board, brownies from scratch is one of those for me.
I got this recipe off a blog, who got it off a blog, who probably got it off a blog. But here it is. This is my go to brownie recipe. They are soooo yummy. They are easy to make. They are true brownies, not cake pretending to be brownies.
Glenn’s Famous Brownies–
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
Mix together salt, flour, and cocoa powder, set aside. Melt butter in a medium sized sauce pan, remove from heat. Whisk in sugar and vanilla. Quickly whisk in one egg at a time until well mixed. Add butter mix to flour mix until well incorporated. Pour into greased pan 8×8 pan and cook at 350 degrees for 25-35 mins.
I’m making a batch to have on Sunday. We are celebrating Christmas with my in-laws and I decided that brownies and ice cream would be the perfect desert. Hmmm maybe I’ll make hot fudge to go with it too, now there is a desert to write home about!
